Back to Blogging

Okay after much thought I have decided to return to the blogging world. Basically I quit blogging because:

A. My life is seriously incredibly lame. I truly live the American Dream. Work, School, Gym, Tv.....in a nutshell that is my life.

B. I am not married, and have no cute kids to blog about. Sometimes it seems that is a requirement of a good blogger.

C. My life turned upside down when I lost my Best friend, my little brother, and I kind of well fell off the face of the earth. (or at least it seemed.)

Why I am back to blogging:

A. I do not keep a journal and think that this is a great way to document my life. (no matter how boring it might be.)

B. I love following other people's blogs, and feel it is only fair to follow if I have my own.

C. I have decided that blogging isn't only about posting cute pics, bragging about cute kids, or telling about all of your fun adventures. It can also be about posting random thoughts, or just whatever is on your mind.

So that is that and I am back and excited to re-enter the blogging world. I will spare you the recap of the last 10 months of my life as they have not been the best and 2009 was definetely not my favorite year. But on a positvie note 2010 has been fabulous and I am just looking forward to the future. Tomorrow I am off to Vegas!!! I am super excited to get away from the daily grind and show my roomate the famous city of sin. Okay and I can't figure out how to upload pictures.........so this boring spill is all you get.

Welcome to Louisville, Kentucky!

Our first destination was the Louisville Slugger Museum. Here is a pick of me and Mr. Ken Griffy Junior.
Me and the famous home run hitter, Mr. Babe Ruth.

Brian and I with a famous baseball player. I honestly have no idea who it is....someone please tell me I feel like an idiot.

Brian and I in front of the biggest baseball bat in the world. We are holding our little mini bats that they gave us after the tour. Unfortunately we were unable to bring them home because they will not let you carry them on the plane.

The night before the derby we went to Kroger to watch them make the garland of roses. This is what the winning horse gets awarded after they win. It was really cool to see how they make it and they even gave us each a few rose petals from it to take home.
Brian and I in front of a statue horse with the garland of roses around it.

Jules friends were so cute. They bought me a gift to welcome me to Louisville. It is a really cute glass that says "derby diva." It was so so fun to meet all of her friends. They were all so accommodating and so fun to hang out with.
The horse cake the Julia's friends made for the pre-derby party. They also made us brunch and it was oh so delicious.

Churchhill Downs stadium, and a statue of one of the horses that passed away racing in derby a few years ago.

Just a pic of Bri and I hanging out in the infield waiting for derby to start. And me trying the famous Mint Julips. So not a fan, but I really wanted the glass. I found out later that you could buy the glasses at Walgreens for 2.50 but oh well.

Here is a pic of what the derby looked like from where we were sitting. It is like one big party with wall to wall people.

After the derby we snuck down to the paddock where they keep the horses to get some up close views.

Beautiful horse. It was so amazing to see the horses close up.

This horse reminded me of Izzy so I had to get a pic. They have very similar coloring.

This is a picture of ESPN interviewing the winning jockey after the race.

The beautiful Ohio River. The river runs right through downtown Louisville.

A replica of one of the first boxing rings Ali boxed in.

This was a really cool mural of Muhamid Ali running with some of the children he helped to inspire.

The Muhamid Ali center was full of incredible art work. Unfortunately my camera was on it's last limb so this was the only pic I got.
So this last weekend was definitely one to remember. On Friday morning at 3:30 a.m. we set sail for Louisville, Kentucky. What an adventure. It was such an amazing trip and I am so thankful I had the opportunity to visit the Eastern side of the United States. Prior to this trip Utah was the furthest East I had ever been. So after flying all day we finally landed in Louisville around 1:30p.m. We stepped out of the airport and were welcomed with the humidity. Luckily it was not to humid while we were there but it is definitely different than the dry heat we experience in Utah. Our first destination was the Louisville Slugger Museum in downtown Louisville. They took us through a tour and showed us how they make the bats. It was really cool to see the production and of course we received our little souvenir bats at the end. After the slugger museum Julia took us on a tour of the fine state of Kentucky. It was so overwhelming with all of the green trees, green grass, flat land, and green everything. Later that evening we stopped by to watch the garland of roses being made. It was really fun and they actually gave us rose petals from the real garland the winning horse would be awarded. After the garland of roses we headed to Danville were Julia went to college. I had so much fun getting to know all of her friends we went to dinner and then walked around her campus. The next morning we woke up bright and early and headed back to Louisville for the all day derby rally. Julia's friends had breakfast ready for us at 10a.m. Her friends were so adorable they had a gift wrapped for me and were nice and welcoming. After we had breakfast we headed to the derby. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. By the time we got past traffic, parked, and walked about 2 miles we finally made it into churchhill downs around 12p.m. We were just in time to see the first race. On the day of derby there are actually 13 races and derby is race #3. So we camped out all day and had fun walking around and meeting lots of crazy people. You would be shocked at how many people attend derby, it is literally wall to wall people and you feel like you are at marti grass. There were ladies flashing their boobs, people passed out, and stupid girls in high heels running across the tops of the porta potties. What an adventure. When it was time for derby we sprinted to the fence and were able to see the horses cross the finish line. After derby was over we gathered up our stuff and headed down to the paddock so that we could get a close up view of some of the horses that ran in the race. It was really neat to see the horses close up. When we left churchhill downs we headed to Julia's house and went straight to bed. The next morning we slept clear until 12p.m. We were so exhausted from about 48 hours of no sleep. After we woke up we decided that we would go back to downtown Louisville and visit the Muhamid Ali Center. I instantly fell in love with the Muhamid Ali museum it was so amazing. I had no idea how incredible of a person Ali was. And if anyone ever goes to Kentucky I would definitely stop at the museum. After walking through the museum and watching all of the videos we headed to a hometown Louisville restaurant. It was a very cute little place and we enjoyed some hometown Louisville cooking. Then we headed over to Jules friends apartment and spent some time with them. We ended the night with some ice cream and then went back to her house to pack up. It was such an amazing trip and I am so thankful I had the opportunity to go.

Izzy Checking out her Easter basket.
This last weekend was full of fun and adventures. I know I often complain about living so close to my family but I honestly don't know what I would do without them. It is so nice to able to get together so often and they are all so much fun. So this last weekend was so nice and relaxing. Saturday was my mom and dustins birthdays so we all got together and went out to lunch at Brick Oven. It was so yummy! I always stuff myself so much, but it is so worth it. After Lunch my mom and I headed to target to buy Easter candy. Well all the Easter candy was sold out so we just ended up buying Easter crap for the puppies. It was so funny because they had like the largest variety ever of dog Easter stuff. We had so much fun picking out Easter stuff for the dogs. I must say that whenever me and my mom get together their is always fun to be had. We are both so nuts. We could shop all day and night as long as we get a piece of chocolate in between. Unforunetely my dad and Trev were with us this time and were not to happy that we left them sitting in the car for over an hour.
The next morning was Easter Sunday. I was so excited to give Izzy her Easter basket. She thought it was pretty cool too. She instantly knocked it over and started chewing on everything. I put her little Easter shirt on her and she loved it. She wore it clear until Wednesday when I finally took it off of her to visit the washing machine. After Izzy's excitement we got ready to go to church in Eureka. Amber and Jared were suppose to pick me up at 10:15 but didn't get to my house until about 10:35. So we hopped on the freeway and headed for Eureka. Amby and I were busy playing with the puppies and when I looked up I noticed that Jared had missed the exit. So we ended up having to go clear to Mona and then there poor little Izzy got sick so we had to stop and clean up. Needless to say we got to the eureka ward with about 25 minutes left. Woops! At least we tried. After church we went to my grandmas and ate a very delicious meal. Then we just lounged around and played with the kids. All in all it was a great Easter and a wonderful weekend.

I do not know what I would do without these adorable little creatures in my life. Although Izzers makes a huge mess at my house I still love her to peices and I absolutely adore little Griffers bear. So here is a tribute to the puppies I love.

Izzy Bizzy

This is my first ever post to my new blog I started today. So I am excited to have a blog so that I can show off my puppy Izzy. This is my new puppy Izzy and I love her so much. She turns 3 months tommorow and we are going to have a little party to celebrate. So since this is a new year I have started a new blog and would like to take a minute to refect on all of the exciting things that took place in 2008. It truly was an amazing year that I will never forget. So many exciting things took place in my life.

In May of 2008 I signed my life away and bought my very first home. It has been one of the most exciting things of my life to be a home owner. It was also so intimidating being 22 and investing so much money, but it is possibly one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love my house it is so beautiful and I enjoy decorating and buying new things for my house. I was also lucky to get 2 awesome roomates Jules and Melo. We have so much fun playing the wii, throwing parties, and going up to the lake. These girls are so awesome and I am so lucky to have them as roomates. Along with the 2 roomates came 3 animals. Jules is the owner of Riley a minature Doxy, and Melo has her bunny thumper. And then I recently added my sweet puppy Izzy. We are all one happy family.

In October of 2008 I was also blessed to receive an amazing job with intermountain Healthcare. I have now been in my current position as supervisor of telecommunications for 4 months. It has been a wonderful and exciting challenge for me. I have learned so much about myself and made so many amazing friends along the way. I look forward to my future with the company and am so grateful for my 17 amazing employees.

In November of this year I gained a new family member. My beautiful sister Amber married Jared. Jared is a great person and I love him being a part of our family. It was so fun having him with us at Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. It was such an amazing day seeing my sister get married. I have never seen her so happy. I am so glad to Jared is in our family. And I appreciate all of the creativity he brings with him.
